Objective - Students will celebrate completing the summer reading program.
Describe the characters and how they show/model the core values. How does a character respond to a challenge or an event? What words or phrases from the text help to give meaning to one or all of the core values? What core values have you shown this week?
Act it out – Have students choose a character from the story, and act out a scene from the chapter they are reading. Write it out – Have students choose a character from the story, and write a letter to one of the other characters about what’s happening in the story right now. Illustrate it – Have students draw a scene from the chapter they are reading.
Rewards and recognition for completion of the summer reading program.
Determine the total number of minutes students read during the summer reading program.
Students will receive gift cards for meeting their summer reading program goal(s).
